| 91–100 | ninety-one, ninety-two, ninety-three, ninety-four, ninety-five, ninety-six, ninety-seven, ninety-eight, ninety-nine, one hundred |
|---|---|---|
| Zero | Matemáticas, temperaturas, uso general | It’s zero degrees outside. |
| Oh (se pronuncia «ou») | Teléfonos, habitaciones, años | Room 205: «two oh five» |
| Nought / Naught | Inglés británico, decimales | Nought point five (0.5) |
| Nil | Resultados deportivos en inglés británico | Two nil (2-0) |
| Love | Tenis | Fifteen love (15-0) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | one | «uan» |
| 2 | two | «tu» |
| 3 | three | «zri» (la lengua entre los dientes) |
| 4 | four | «for» |
| 5 | five | «faiv» |
| 6 | six | «siks» |
| 7 | seven | «sé-ven» |
| 8 | eight | «eit» |
| 9 | nine | «nain» |
| 10 | ten | «ten» |
|---|---|---|
| 11 | eleven | «i-lé-ven» |
| 12 | twelve | «tuelv» |
| 13 | thirteen | «zer-TIN» |
| 14 | fourteen | «for-TIN» |
| 15 | fifteen | «fif-TIN» |
| 16 | sixteen | «siks-TIN» |
| 17 | seventeen | «sé-ven-TIN» |
| 18 | eighteen | «ei-TIN» |
| 19 | nineteen | «nain-TIN» |
| 20 | twenty | «TUEN-ti» |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | twenty | «TUEN-ti» |
| 30 | thirty | «ZER-ti» |
| 40 | forty | «FOR-ti» |
| 50 | fifty | «FIF-ti» |
| 60 | sixty | «SIKS-ti» |
| 70 | seventy | «SÉ-ven-ti» |
| 80 | eighty | «EI-ti» |
| 90 | ninety | «NAIN-ti» |
| 100 | one hundred | «uan JÁN-dred» |
decena + guion + unidad
| Fórmula | Resultado |
|---|---|
| twenty + one | twenty-one (21) |
| thirty + five | thirty-five (35) |
| forty + eight | forty-eight (48) |
| sixty + three | sixty-three (63) |
| ninety + nine | ninety-nine (99) |
- 101 → one hundred (and) one
- 150 → one hundred (and) fifty
|---|---|---|
| 4 → 40 | forty (sin la «u» de four) | ❌ fourty |
| 14 | fourteen (con la «u») | ❌ forteen |
| 5 → 15 y 50 | fifteen, fifty (f-i-f) | ❌ fiveteen, fivety |
| 8 → 18 y 80 | eighteen, eighty (solo una «t») | ❌ eightteen, eightty |
| 9 → 90 | ninety (sin la «e» de nine) | ❌ nineety |
| 9 → 19 | nineteen (con la «e») | ❌ nineten |
| 3 → 13 y 30 | thirteen, thirty | ❌ threeteen, threety |
| 2 → 20 | twenty | ❌ twoty |
1. Decir tu edad
- I’m twenty-five. / I’m twenty-five years old.
- How old are you? → I’m thirty-two.
- She’s forty-eight.
2. Dar un número de teléfono
Se dicen los dígitos uno por uno:
- 555-0143 → five five five, oh one four three
3. Precios y dinero
- $4.50 → four fifty o four dollars and fifty cents
- $19.99 → nineteen ninety-nine
- £35 → thirty-five pounds
- How much is this? → It’s twelve dollars.
4. La hora
- 3:15 → three fifteen (o quarter past three)
- 7:45 → seven forty-five (o quarter to eight)
- 10:30 → ten thirty (o half past ten)
5. Los años
Los años se dicen en dos partes:
- 1985 → nineteen eighty-five
- 1999 → nineteen ninety-nine
- 2010 → twenty ten
- 2026 → twenty twenty-six
6. Direcciones y habitaciones
- Room 207 → room two oh seven
- I live at 45 Main Street → forty-five Main Street
- Bus 62 → bus sixty-two
7. Porcentajes y matemáticas simples
- Twenty plus thirty equals fifty. (20 + 30 = 50)
- Ninety minus forty is fifty. (90 − 40 = 50)
- Ten times five is fifty. (10 × 5 = 50)
- One hundred divided by four is twenty-five. (100 ÷ 4 = 25)
- Fifty percent (50%)
Números ordinales: first, second, third
|---|---|---|
| 1 | first | 1st |
| 2 | second | 2nd |
| 3 | third | 3rd |
| 4 | fourth | 4th |
| 5 | fifth | 5th |
| 6 | sixth | 6th |
| 7 | seventh | 7th |
| 8 | eighth | 8th |
| 9 | ninth | 9th |
| 10 | tenth | 10th |
| 11 | eleventh | 11th |
| 12 | twelfth | 12th |
| 20 | twentieth | 20th |
| 21 | twenty-first | 21st |
| 100 | hundredth | 100th |
- My birthday is on May tenth.
- She lives on the fifth floor.
- He finished in second place.
- Today is our twenty-fifth anniversary.
Errores comunes
1. Confundir thirteen y thirty
❌ I’m thirty (cuando tienes 13 años) ✅ I’m thirteen.
❌ two hundreds people ✅ two hundred people
4. Olvidar el guion entre decena y unidad
❌ twenty one ✅ twenty*-*one
❌ five hundred fifty-five… ✅ five five five…
6. Pronunciar three como «tri» o «fri»
A: Hi! How old are you? B: I’m twenty-eight. And you? A: I’m thirty-five. What’s your phone number? B: It’s five five five, oh one two three. A: And where do you live? B: At forty-seven Park Avenue, room twelve. A: How much is the rent? B: It’s eight hundred fifty dollars a month. A: That’s cheap! Mine is nine hundred.
